(5) Student Experience

Laureate College has provided an excellent platform for students to grow in both their academic and personal pursuits. From their exceptional gifted arts program to their emphasis on both STEM and English literacy, the school provides a perfect place for students like me to become both well-rounded and successful in their future endeavours. I have personally really enjoyed the school because of its flexible learning platforms. As an online student, their ability to successfully provide students with the resources and education they need to grow in their education is not limited at all. The teachers are amazing. They create a classroom where every student feels safe, welcome, and ready to learn. Overall, I am really satisfied and happy to continue with Laureate College as a student until graduation!

(5) School Leadership

The school leaders are truly incredible and deeply valued by everyone in our community. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Ms. DeBartolo—our guidance counsellor—several times, whether it was for program applications or just getting my courses and grades in order. She’s always gone above and beyond to provide the resources I need and has been a constant source of support in my learning. Our principal, Ms. Ohashi, is equally admired and loved. She’s the kind of leader who makes every student feel seen and supported, always encouraging us to reach our full potential both academically and personally. The teachers are just as amazing—they’re flexible in their teaching, patient, and committed to making sure we truly understand the material before moving on. They’re always there when you need help, whether it’s with homework or just clearing up any confusion.

(4.5) Teaching

At Laureate College, all teachers are very supportive and dedicate a large amount of time to each student to ensure that they don't ever fall behind in their subjects, from answering whatever questions they have in class to helping them with their homework when they face struggles. I have also found that my teachers are very flexible with their teaching and allow you to take your time with each assignment to ensure accuracy, quality, and, most importantly, understanding in that area of study. They will always have your best interests at heart and will support you in every way possible to ensure that you achieve both your personal and academic goals. Overall, I've been very satisfied with the teachers here at Laureate College and their tremendous amount of support for each individual student.

(4.5) Academics

The work given at Laureate College is thoughtfully designed to match the academic level expected at each grade. If there’s ever any confusion, the teachers are always there to support you, so you never feel like you're falling behind. I’ve found the assignments to be the perfect balance of challenge and manageability, helping me grow academically while staying on track. The coursework is not only engaging but also well-prepares students for the demands of university. Additionally, Laureate’s unique structure of offering two courses per term makes the workload much more manageable and effective. It allows students to stay focused on just two subjects at a time without feeling overwhelmed, which I find especially helpful in balancing my extracurricular activities with school. Overall, the academics at Laureate College are very considerate of what their students need to grow while ensuring that each student doesn't feel over-stressed with school.

(4) School Life

If I were asked to give a tour of Laureate College in Burlington, I would begin with the outdoor spaces and student dorms. From what my dad has shared, these areas give a great sense of what student life is really like at Laureate. The dorms are comfortable and foster a strong sense of community, allowing students from around the world to connect and grow together. Outside, the school offers beautiful gardens and access to huge fields and landscapes that can be used to educate students on the importance of nature while providing a space for a variety of outdoor activities such as soccer, golf, and football, showing how dedicated Laureate is to providing a well-rounded student experience. These spaces reflect the school’s commitment to both academic and personal growth.

(4.5) Admissions

Although I haven’t gone through the university admissions process at Laureate College yet, I’ve experienced a similar process while applying for summer programs. The guidance counsellor here is incredibly supportive and always ensures that students get the help they need with their applications. I’ve gone through this process multiple times, and each time it was smooth, enjoyable, and stress-free. The structure and support offered at Laureate make these experiences positive and manageable, helping me feel more prepared for future applications.
