(4) Student Experience
I love the Lychee Francais de Toronto, although I think it has its flaws. When I first arrived at the school, I wasn't prepared for the workload and the difficulty of the lessons. I found it hard to switch from a Canadian public school to the Lychee. Though I am very happy I did cause in the near future, I will have many skill sets. The Lycée teaches kids how to write properly, think analytically, and so much more. teaches kids how to write properly, think analytically, and so much more. I really appreciate the teachers as well, who are very kind, funny and smart such as Madame Berger and Monsieur Mathieu are two teachers who really encourage their students. I think the LFT is a great school to attend, and the school is truly amazing with great teachers.
(4.5) School Leadership
I think that the school leaders are very kind and considerate. They do a very good job. The teachers are very qualified. They are very kind, considerate, helping. I believe that since the LFT is so small, there are more opportunities for teachers to really care about their students and help them with whatever they need. Certain teachers are willing to help their students whenever they are struggling with anything, even when they are supposed to have their break or lunch. I believe that shows just how much they care about their students.
(4.5) Teaching
I don’t think teachers expect too much from us. While they may have high expectations and sometimes grade harshly, I believe this pushes students to excel. High standards encourage us to work harder and reach our full potential. However, I understand that some students feel overwhelmed by the pressure. It can be stressful when expectations seem too high, but in my experience, teachers are usually willing to help if you communicate your struggles. They want students to succeed and will adjust their approach if they know someone is struggling. Instead of seeing high expectations as a burden, I think they should be viewed as an opportunity for growth. Ultimately, teachers challenge us because they believe in our abilities and want us to do our best.
(3.5) Academics
Schoolwork can be hard, but it helps us learn important skills and improve. Tough assignments make us think more, use our time well, and figure things out on our own. Even though it feels like too much sometimes, it helps us for the future. When we do hard work, we get stronger and don’t give up as easily. Finishing a tough assignment makes us feel good and shows us we can do it. At first, the work might seem impossible, but it helps us improve over time. Teachers don’t make us work hard just to be mean—they do it so we can learn and be ready for what’s next. In the end, all the effort we put in now will help us later in life.
(4.5) Extracurriculars
I do MUN, which is a very fun club with a very good teacher. It teaches important skills that help in life, like public speaking, debating, and problem-solving. MUN also helps with teamwork because we work together to find solutions. It improves leadership since we represent countries and make decisions. Even though it can be challenging, it builds confidence and prepares us for the future. Plus, it’s a great way to meet new people. However, the only problem would be that we only have it once a week for an hour.
(4) Students
I go to a very small school, which makes it feel like a real community where everyone knows each other. The students who do the best aren’t just the smartest but the ones who are kind and help others. Since our school is small, teamwork and friendliness are really important, and supporting each other makes learning easier and more enjoyable. Teachers also know us well and help us with more than just schoolwork. It’s not just about grades—it’s about growing as a person and making the school a better place. It’s easy to feel lost in bigger schools, but everyone is important here. The people who do the best are the ones who support others and help create a positive environment.
(4.5) School Life
If I had to give a tour to visitors, I would start by showing them the outside because I find it really nice. The outdoor space gives a great first impression and sets a welcoming tone. After that, I would take them to the library, an important part of the school where students can study, read, and work on projects. It’s a quiet, comfortable space that shows how much the school values learning. Then, I would take them to the classrooms so they can get a feel for how the school works. Seeing the classrooms would help them understand the learning environment and how students and teachers interact. This tour would give visitors a good idea of what makes our school special.
(2.5) Community
Personally, I do not consider the school like home at all. I find them to be two completely different things. Home is a place where I can fully relax, be myself, and take a break from responsibilities. It’s where I spend time with family and feel completely comfortable. School, on the other hand, is more structured and focused on learning. While I enjoy seeing my friends and being part of a community, it doesn’t give me the same feeling as home. At school, there are rules to follow, deadlines to meet, and expectations to fulfill. Even though some people may see school as a second home, I don’t feel that way. For me, school and home serve completely different purposes in my life. However, I do believe that most feel included and accepted.
(3.5) School Location
The only bad thing about the school is its location. There is not much near the school except Tim Hortons and Dollarama. Most people stay on campus and go out to get food but come back right after. The campus is great for those in Grades 9 and above because then students have their own space.
(4) Admissions
I do not recall what happened. All I remember is studying before the exam and then going to school. There was a written part with some easy and some difficult questions. I tried my best to answer them carefully. Then came the oral part, which made me a bit nervous. However, the teacher was very kind and made me feel comfortable. I spoke as clearly as I could. In the end, I was relieved that I had done my best.
