BRAVO Celebration
On Tuesday April 12th, the grade 6 class joined together with parents and officer Repta to celebrate the conclusion of the eight week BRAVO program (Building Respect, Attitudes and Values with Others). The ceremony included student presentations as well as the presentation of BRAVO certificates of completion. Students created Power Point presentations, poems, stories and art work to demonstrate their understandings. Parents and classmates listened and learned about information presented during the BRAVO program and asked questions they had about the program. Together with the BRAVO student banner, the class took pictures with parents and classmates to conclude the ceremony.
Throughout the BRAVO program, students learned about aspects of drug use and abuse, peer pressure, the effects of tobacco and peer pressure. They engaged in role play, dialogue, research and group work in order to explore these topics more deeply. Students had the opportunity to present during class lessons and ask officer Repta any questions either directly or through the use of the BRAVO Box of questions. Great job grade 6s!
