International Food Day
On Monday February 22nd, the grade 7/8 class hosted an international food day, in which students had the opportunity to cook, sample and discuss delicious international delacies. This project was an extension of their Model UN assignments, in which students were provided with a country to research in relation to important global issues, including climate change, the refugee crisis and ISIS. Students were excited to learn about the cultural traditions of countries from around the world and also discuss delicious reicipies in a supportive and inclusive way. Students made great use of their research and became experts on the local foods of their assigned countries. Some students brought in cultural artifacts to enhance their food presentations. Students got to learn and explore important traditions which contributed to Glenn Arbour's inclusive culture of diversity and celebration. Celebrating food diversity is an important way that Glenn Arbour students showed their committment to inclusive thinking and cultural diversity. A great time was had by all!
