International Food Day
On Monday February 22 the grade 7/8 class participated in a multicultural International Food Day, in which students prepared unique dishes from around the world. Students presented the cultural significance and ingredients of their dishes and got to sample a delicious variety of special delicacies from many nations.
Students worked hard to gather the ingredients required for their dishes, cook and prepare accurately and present to the class! Some students brought in cultural artifacts and flags, while others wore t-shirts from their assigned countries. Students had a great time tasting, learning and exploring world wide delicacies from our own classroom! All were full and cultured by the end of our lunch period, as students got to sample over 18 different dishes. An exciting and tasty lunch surprise!
The International Food Day coincided with our Model UN Conference hosted at Assumption High School in Burlington. Students will speak about important global issues from unique cultural and geographic perspectives.
