Literacy Day
On January 27, GAA students celebrated our love of reading and writing. Students dressed up as their favourite book characters and brought in their favourite books to share. We decorated classroom doors, and all week we displayed photos of our favourite spot to read!
We also had a special visitor, our new canine friend Guiness loved having students of all ages read him stories. We wonder what his favourite book was!
As an extension of literacy day, GAA students also celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday!
Happy Belated Birthday!
On Thursday March 3rd, the GAA family celebrated Dr. Seuss’s 112th birthday, WOW! Students throughout the day celebrated in their classrooms by engaging in different activities. The children wrote journal entries about “The places they would go"' they wrote their names backwards to create silly names. There was a wonderful display in the library of Dr. Seuss’s books. Children were able to create their own Seuss creatures and wrote a poem using the animal parts displayed in the library.
It was a Seussical day at GAA!
