Showcasing the Arts Week: May 1-5

Each morning at Opening this week, students shared and showcased their talents in our annual Showcasing the Arts Week. Monday’s schedule: Ella & Mia- Singing Duet “Anything You Can Do, ”Stephanie- Singing “Beauty and the Beast, ”Paige singing & Mya playing guitar “Soul Sister.” On Tuesday, Jillian & Caitlyn- Singing Duo “Get Back Up Again, ”Allison-Singing “Bye Bye Bye” and Zoe & Zyva- Singing “ How Far I’ll Go.” Wednesday’s schedule: Nimi, Ini, Brooke, Aeeshat & McKenna- Performing “ Cha Cha Slide, ”Naila- Highlander Dance “Blue Bonnet” and Darcy- Martial Arts Performance. Thursday’s schedule: Carina singing & Holly playing piano “Hallelujah” and Holly, Amrita, Simran, Nicole, Addie- Singing and playing guitar “Both Sides Now.” We finished on Friday with the following performances: Owen-Piano “The Great Clock” & “Shave and Haircut, ”Fadi- Electric Guitar “Smoke on the Water” and Ben Jones – Drums “The Wolf.”

Music Monday: May 1st

On Monday May 1st, student celebrated Music Monday by watching the live broadcast of this special educational event through the host website, musicmonday.ca. Students got to listen to a variety of musical genres and talents. Music Monday is also an opportunity to celebrate the music education program that takes place at GAA!

Shoe Drive Winning Class Lunch: March and April

Congratulations to the winning classes for the March and April Shoe Drive contest! The hardworking Grade 4 and 6 classes were awarded with a pizza lunch and ice cream sundae dessert at Lampman Park over the Lunch Hour, on Tuesday May 2nd and Thursday May 4th. Well done to the grade 4 and 6 classes!
