Me to We Guest Speaker
On Friday April 8th, Free the Children and Me to We youth and education outreach coordinator, Michaela Evans, spoke to students from JK to grade 8 about the fundraising efforts and differences that charity work is making in the lives of those in need. Michaela discussed how Free the Children was created out of a child labour incident, and how youth activism makes a difference both locally and globally. Students shared Glenn Arbour's Me to We campaigns with Michaela and were excited to learn about how their fundraising efforts were helping in the construction of schools, clean water and santitation facilities and women's empowerment in communities around the world.
Michaela spoke about her overseas travelling and teaching experiences with communities in need and also touched on the global impact that children can make in their Me to We fundraising efforts. We are excited to kick off another Me to We campaign, We Take Charge, as part of our Earth month here at GAA.
