GAA Apple Pies
On Friday October 7th, the Glenn Arbour Academy Parent Teacher Association (GAAPTA) hand made hundreds of delicious apple pies ordered by Glenn Arbour families to celebrate this Thanksgiving weekend. The grade 8 classroom was converted into a pie assembly zone, where parents gathered to put together the delicious pie ingredients. GAAPTA parents also met off-site to peel and cut apples in preparation for the large scale assembly. The fundraiser generated funds to go towards school improvement and technology iniaitives within the school community. Thank you GAAPTA!
We Scare Hunger
Glenn Arbour Academy's Thanksgiving Day food drive, also called "We Scare Hunger" is part of our local campaign for Free the Children. Together students collected hundreds of non-perishable food items for donation to the Salvation Army. Students sorted their food donations into their Houses for House Points. Student Council also sorted and stocked the food shelves in our local Salvation Army in an effort to help prepare for the busy Thanksgiving season ahead. Thank you for your generous food donations!
Boston Pizza
On Thursday October 13th, the JK-Grade 1 classes will visit our local Boston Pizza to learn about food ingredients, healthy eating habits, community helpers and more. They will learn from interactive displays about the operations of this family restaurant and even get to try some delicious recipies!
