International Dot Day
On September 15th, Glenn Arbour Academy celebrated International Dot Day with class wide stories, activities and news to support individuality, determination and confidence building in our student population. Dot Day coincides with the kick off of our H2 Crew Community Values of Respect, Inclusion, Responsibility, and Caring. Students work on these Community Values throughout their interactions at school, earning beads to recognize their important contributions to the student life and school community.
Student Council
On Monday September 19, we announced the 2016-2017 Student Council members. Positions filled this year include Co-Presidents, Co-Vice Presidents, Co-Secretaries and a Treasurer. Students campaigned last week and delivered their speeches at opening before students conducting in class voting for each candidate.
Student Council will host the We Scare Hunger Thanksgiving Food Drive and visit a local food bank to help stock, sort and organize shelves at this busy time.
H2 Crew
The brand new GAA H2 Crew was also introduced on Monday September 19, with two student representatives. These representatives will work together with a team of teachers to improve the school community in the areas of safety, student learning, bullying awareness and prevention. They will conduct full school announcements about the importance of kindness and challenges to help kick start a kindness trend at Glenn Arbour Academy.
