Track and Field: Friday May 13th, 2016

GAA's participation in the SSAF Track and Field event on Friday May 13th was a huge success. A number of our participants, aged 10 and up, earned recognition and even medals for their outstanding athletic performances. Sam Sawtuk and Mya Nardone both finished 6th in the 1500 meter race for U12 boys and girls respectively. Hannah Nardone finished 5th in the 400 meter dash to win her heat. Sarah Gallagher finished in the top 10 in the 100 meter dash and 4th in the 400 meter dash. William Miles finished 4th in the 400 meter dash and 4th in the 1500 meter race as well. GAA's girls elementary Relay won their heat and placed 4th by 2.10th of a second! As for our medal count, congratulations goes out to the following students: Lee Bennett, Bronze, Triple Jump; Kareena Channa, Bronze, Triple Jump; Mya Nardone, Silver, 400 meter, Emily Trus, Silver, 1500 meter; Aiden Cardoso, Silver, 1500 meter; Alyssa Young, Silver, 1500 meter; Greysen Vanin, Gold, Triple Jump; Kate Swatuk, Gold, 1500 meter; and Matt Horton, Gold; 100 meter. An excellent job on the part of all GAA track and field participants! Well done athletes!
