(5) Student Experience

I’ve had such a great experience with my Chemistry teacher at North Bay High School! She makes even the toughest topics easy to understand and always finds ways to make class fun. Her lessons are super engaging, and she uses cool examples that relate to real life. I never felt shy about asking questions because she’s really patient and always encourages us to think critically. Her teaching style helped me not only get good grades but also actually enjoy learning Chemistry, which I never thought I would. I appreciate how she takes the time to help everyone in the class, making sure we all get the material. Because of her, I feel way more confident in my abilities and excited about what I can do in science. She’s truly the best!

(4.5) School Leadership

The headmaster and my teachers are incredibly supportive and easy to talk to. They genuinely care about us as students and make it a point to check in on how we’re doing, both academically and personally. It really shows that they want us to succeed, and that creates a positive atmosphere in the school. I feel comfortable reaching out to them whenever I need help or advice, which makes a huge difference in my experience here. I appreciate how they encourage us to ask questions and engage in discussions. If there’s one thing I’d love to see more of, it would be more student activities or clubs that can help bring everyone together outside of class. That would really enhance our sense of community!

(5) Teaching

I really think the teachers have the perfect balance when it comes to what they ask from us. They definitely challenge us, but they also provide the support we need to succeed. I appreciate how clear they are about their expectations, so I always know what I need to do to stay on track. When they talk about success, I get the feeling it’s not just about getting good grades; they genuinely care about us growing as individuals, too. They focus on helping us develop important skills like critical thinking and confidence, which are super useful for the future. It feels like they really want to prepare us for whatever comes next, whether that’s going to university or starting a career. It makes a big difference in how I view my education!

(4.5) Academics

Honestly, I think the work here is just right. It keeps me engaged and helps me learn effectively. The teachers really know how to make the subjects interesting, which makes it easier to stay focused. I believe what I’m learning now will definitely be useful later in life. For example, the Math and Science classes are great for developing important problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities. These skills are super important and can be applied to real-world situations, whether it’s tackling everyday challenges or preparing for a career. I feel like I’m building a strong foundation that will help me no matter what I decide to do in the future. Overall, I appreciate how the curriculum is designed to keep us interested and ready for what's ahead!

(5) Extracurriculars

Yes, I’m part of the golf club and I really enjoy it! One of my favourite things is using the golf motion monitor. It’s a great tool that helps me analyze my swing and improve my technique. I love how it provides instant feedback, making it easier to see my progress. Overall, being in the golf club has been a fun way to stay active and work on my skills!

(4.5) Students

I really think the students at North Bay High School feel like a close-knit community, kind of like a small town rather than a big city. Everyone generally gets along, and there’s a really supportive vibe all around. Most of us do well when we’re engaged in our classes and activities, but I know some students might find certain subjects a bit challenging. It can be especially tough for those who are less confident in speaking up or getting involved in discussions. Overall, though, I feel like most people find a sense of belonging here. The school does a great job of promoting inclusivity, and it’s comforting to know there’s a strong support system if you ever need help or just someone to talk to. Whether it’s teachers or friends, there’s always someone ready to lend an ear!

(5) School Life

If I were asked to give a tour of North Bay High School to a group of visitors, I would definitely take them to the main entrance first. It’s a welcoming spot that really showcases the vibe of our school. From there, I’d show them the classrooms, especially the arts and crafts room and the stage, since they highlight the diverse learning experiences we have. The stage is a great feature because it’s where we hold performances and events, making it a central part of our school life. I’d also make sure to point out the common areas, like the library and the cafeteria, where students gather and connect with one another. These spaces are key to our school culture and show how friendly and supportive our community is!

(5) Community

Yes, I definitely feel like North Bay High School is like a second home to me! The supportive atmosphere and the relationships I’ve built with my teachers and classmates make it feel really comfortable. I know I can always talk to my teachers if I have questions or need help, which is a huge part of feeling at home. Most people here are friendly and welcoming, so it’s easy to make connections. While I think most students feel included and appreciated, I know that sometimes, a few might struggle to find their place. Overall, though, the school does a great job of promoting a sense of community and encouraging everyone to get involved. It’s nice to feel like you belong somewhere, and I think that’s what makes our school feel like home!

(4.5) School Location

Most students tend to stay on campus throughout the day. It’s really nice having everything we need right here, from our classes to the cafeteria, which helps create a strong sense of community. While a few students might head off campus during lunch or after school, the majority enjoy spending their time together here, making the most of our school environment!

(4.5) Admissions

The admissions process for North Bay High School was pretty straightforward. I remember filling out the application and sharing some basic info about my background and interests. My advice for anyone planning to apply is to be yourself and highlight your passions; that really makes a difference. I found the process to be a mix of excitement and a little stress, especially while waiting for the results. Looking back, I realize how important it is to ask questions if you’re ever unsure about anything!
