Baptist schools

A Baptist education

Baptist schools prepare students for a life of service grounded in academic scholarship. These schools stress tradition, social responsibility, Christian development, and preparation for service in a global community. At a Baptist school, each day is filled with learning, activity, and prayer. As students learn a variety of academic subjects, they also learn about the concept of God in strictly biblical terms and become inspired to a lifetime of service to the church. An attitude of service characterized by wisdom, willingness, and humility is the emphasis in these schools. Read more

The conventional Baptist education system develops the mind, builds character, encourages competition, and teaches strong values. Subjects are taught from a theological perspective. Instructors teach core academic courses as well as classes in music, foreign languages, technology, art, and physical education. Students also have the opportunity to participate in speech, drama, athletics, and social activities.

Baptist schools teach that a relationship with God brings harmony to all aspects of life. Baptist values such as honesty, hard work, integrity, respect for authority, love, consideration for others, and personal responsibility are vital in Baptist schools. Each school day is filled with learning, activity, and prayer. While students learn about a wide variety of academic subjects, they also focus on the concept of God in strictly Biblical terms. Baptist schools aim at developing knowledgeable, skillful students who are inspired to a lifetime of service to the church and society.

Why Parents Choose Baptist Schools

Baptist schools are known for offering the highest academic standards, with placement and Honors programs alongside athletic courses and a multitude of extracurricular activities. Small class sizes are also an important part of this academic environment, as they give teachers the chance to closely monitor classes and act as mentors to students. The classroom is a comfortable space where students can openly talk about their Baptist faith.

Such schools help students address identity-related concerns that are quite common in one’s formative years. Why am I here? What is my life’s purpose? How can I live a good life? Baptist schools' mission is to assist children in navigating these complex issues.

Sending your child to a Baptist school also means sending him or her into a community that shares your faith. These bonds foster strong relationships with other parents, as well. At a Baptist school, you will not have to worry about your child learning material you find objectionable.

Tax Breaks?

Many Canadian provinces will provide you with tax breaks for sending your child to a religious school, as paying its tuition could count as a charitable donation. Our Kids' 18 tips have much more information about making private school affordable.
