These schools are quintessential for those who wish to broaden their vocabulary, reading and writing skills in a second or third language, such as French, German, Polish, or Mandarin, so that by the time they graduate they are fluent, or nearly fluent, in that language.
Aside from research that suggests not only do students focus more and excel academically by learning a second language, it can assist children with their native language as well.
Becoming fluent in another language also gives kids a prime opportunity to learn about other cultures and increase their global awareness, along with providing a range of additional job opportunities that they might not have access to otherwise.
Accompanying a bilingual program or a multilingual one, many day language schools also offer a number of additional services such as community service, exchange programs, tutoring, IB or AP programs, and career planning or university counseling for higher grades.
Schools can also specialize in a certain area like arts or sports, or cover a broad range of courses and programs, clubs and activities, moral development and special needs.
