Our Kids: Who are the students at Thames School?
Dorota Rodgers: We have a diverse student community. Currently, children from over 60 countries study at 6 campuses in Warsaw and the Piaseczno district.
Our Kids: What sets Thames British School apart from other international schools?
Dorota Rodgers: Thames British School provides a comprehensive educational path from preschool to high school. With Cambridge accreditation, we provide education in accordance with one of the most recognisable educational programmes in the world. Moreover, thanks to our IB accreditation, students in the final stage of their education have the opportunity to choose between an IB diploma and A levels, empowering them to choose an educational path that is just right for them. There is no better academic preparation for success in life and career than a Cambridge or IB Diploma education.
Curriculum
Our Kids: The school offers Cambridge and IB Diploma programmes. How difficult is it to teach two programmes?
Dorota Rodgers: The programmes do not operate simultaneously on the entire educational path. The leading programme is Cambridge for primary schools and 1-2 years of high school. At the final level, students decide to continue their education in the IB Diploma or A level programme. These prestigious programmes are recognised all over the world, so our graduates can choose from a wide range of universities anywhere in the world. Additionally, we have professional teaching staff with extensive experience in international schools.
Our Kids: What do both programmes offer?
Dorota Rodgers: The Cambridge curriculum prepares students for IGCSE exams, which are the equivalent of the British GCSEs, where students study a range of demanding and creative subjects in Years 10-11 (1st and 2nd years of high school). Education following the Cambridge curriculum ends in Year 13 (4th year of high school) with A level exams and a certificate. To give our students the opportunity to match their interests with their dream higher education path, they can choose between A levels and the IB International Baccalaureate (IB Diploma certificate).
Language education
Our Kids: Please tell us about language education at Thames.
Dorota Rodgers: International education garners great interest from both foreign and Polish families and we believe that it is only going to grow. We offer fantastic programmes and highly qualified teachers who make every effort to provide our students with the highest level of education. Language differences between students may arise at certain stages of the educational process, and to this end, we offer support in the form of additional classes.
Our Kids: Students at Thames also learn other languages. What languages are they and how intensive is the course?
Dorota Rodgers: We understand that the bar for international schools is set really high, and we strive to meet the expectations of parents, so starting from preschool, we teach Spanish for two hours a week. We also offer German as an option in primary, lower secondary, and high school, but this option is not available on all campuses. Students must also learn Polish as a mandatory language.

Dorota Rodgers: We are confident in our values, which our first rate teachers instill during the educational process, and we provide high-quality education and care for students at all educational levels. We are proud to have founded a thriving institution that is fully accredited to offer the UK Early Years Programme, Cambridge Primary and Secondary Curricula, Cambridge A Levels and IB DP Diploma. Thanks to the prestigious programmes we offer, graduates of our school can enjoy the opportunity to continue their higher education at universities around the world.

Our Kids: What challenges do you face?
Dorota Rodgers: There is no easy answer to this question. I believe that every international school faces challenges in many different areas that require action to find solutions. We do our best to provide students with a wonderful place to enjoy learning.
