The Parents Committee speech

“Good afternoon cherished Sisters, staff, parents, friends and families!

WoW! I can’t believe how fast seven years have flown by. It seems just like yesterday we walked through the doors of Académie Providence and were greeted by Sr. Félicité’s warm smile and Madame Lisette’s calming voice ensuring me that Matty will be just fine. “This is like his second home”, she said to me.

It is with bittersweet emotions that I stand here today, to thank you to a loving school, to amazing teachers and staff, to generous parents and to wonderful friends.

After joining the parents committee five years ago, I was given the chance to work collaboratively with the school and the parents to organize events, voice opinions and suggestions in order to help bring more activities for our children. We as a committee accomplished a lot over the years and I can speak on behalf of all the members, we did it with much joy, love and laughter. The countless bake sales, our annual Christmas dinners and BBQ’s wouldn’t have been successful if it wasn’t for your support and generosity. With our accomplishments, we have been able to provide new science equipment for the labs, an improved playground for the kids, and several other things that I won’t list right now.

Turns out Madame Lisette was right, we are very fortunate to call Académie Providence our home away from home, our children have not only learned the academics, they have also learned how to love, how to respect, how to care and believe. Thank you
