In some senses, North Star is the very definition of a liberal arts education, namely one that intends not to educate students to the vocations, but to educate them to engage creatively, thoughtfully, and respectfully with the world around them. While not tiny, North Star is on the smaller end of the school spectrum, and it benefits from its size through an ability to provide an individualized approach to the delivery of the curriculum. Likewise, the students enter a community that is close-knit and personal, where they are known and celebrated for what they bring to the environment. Development is important, including the adoption of new classroom techniques and tools, and values are as well, including an appreciation of diversity, and allowing both a local and international perspective on the course material. The ideal student is one able to thrive in a challenging, vibrant, and values-based learning environment.

My overall experience at North Star Academy was incredibly life-altering. The environment of the school was the most accepting, welcoming and family oriented educational institution that I have ever experienced. In addition to the positive environment, I would consider the education that is provided by the institution as beyond exceptional and highly superior. As a result, I attribute the majority of my success and endeavours in my post-secondary studies to North Star Academy. A prospective student should expect nothing less than a welcoming, positive and strong academic environment. Both the administrative and staff members combined consider the academic and overall well-being of the student as a priority in order to ensure his/her success within North Star Academic as well as their upcoming future endeavours.
My child has enjoyed and benefitted from the small class sizes and the extra personal 1 on 1 attention that this affords. She also loves the close knit and friendly atmosphere of the school.
Overall, North Star Academy has provided my daughter an excellent experience and she is very happy at North Star.
