Breakdown
Overall Experience 5
I’m Abigail, and my experience with Ontario Virtual School was fantastic. I took their online course in Human Growth and Development (HHG4M), which was expertly laid out and allowed me to learn a lot. The instructor always responded quickly whenever I had questions and was very prompt with marking. One of my favourite parts of the system was the layout of the online courses; everything was easy to manage, and the ‘course points’ feature kept me motivated throughout. I especially loved the challenge option, where you can challenge another student to a quiz on the course content. It really helped me prepare for the exam. The practice tests and exams were extremely helpful and did a great job of preparing me for the real thing. When I encountered a technical issue with a test, the support team was quick and effective in resolving it. I would definitely recommend Ontario Virtual School to anyone interested, and I’m already looking for my next online course to take!
School Leadership 5
They have excellent leadership qualities and guide all of their students toward success. Every interaction I had with the staff and the technical support team was positive. They were incredibly supportive, professional, and helpful, always responding within a twenty-four-hour time frame, which I really appreciated. Because of their consistent professionalism, I always felt confident and positive about Ontario Virtual School. Any issues I encountered were handled efficiently and with great care. The communication was truly top-notch.
Teaching 5
All of the teaching at Ontario Virtual School was very good. They use a multi-media approach which aides every type of learner. There were video lessons, audio lessons, step by step lessons, and PowerPoints. The homework was always helpful and allowed for better understanding of the materials learned in the lessons. My teacher was very knowledgeable about human growth and development, and answered my questions well. They have a very positive view of learning, which made me feel happier to be learning as well. I was always challenged and given positive criticism with my work. My teacher was wonderful and I appreciated how she supported me. She gave me suggestions for my future and wished me all of the best in my future life and career.
Academics 5
The course that I took was called Human Growth and Development. It covered how one develops throughout life and all the factors that impact that development. Ontario Virtual School does an excellent job catering to everyone’s personal learning styles. There were many different learning options available (PowerPoint, videos, etc.), which made it easy to learn. There was a very positive learning environment surrounding the school, teachers, and students. There was a leaderboard where you could see how you were progressing compared to others, which motivated you to do your best. I feel very prepared for my future academics and career because of the assistance of Ontario Virtual School, especially since I plan to go into the field of psychology.
School Life 5
I really enjoyed my time with Ontario Virtual School. I was always excited to access my lessons and learn more every day. Everyone was always available to help me or answer any questions I had, which made me feel very positive about my learning experience. I have no suggestions for improving the quality of life for students, as I always felt supported and encouraged. All of my classmates have also been very happy with their experience at Ontario Virtual School and prefer to take their online courses there. They were always passionate about what they were learning, which was supported by the teachers at Ontario Virtual School. I am very pleased with the school environment I experienced during my time with Ontario Virtual School.
Admissions 5
The admissions process was very easy, and I had no issues. For those applying, I recommend submitting your application at least two weeks before you want to start; otherwise, you might experience some waiting. I had an issue where my prerequisite hadn’t been sent yet, but they still gave me access to my course so I could get started while they sorted it out. Overall, applying was a calm experience, and the staff were available to help every step of the way.
