SLI The Sidney Ledson School .
The big picture on Sidney Ledson Institute
We summarized the school ourselves
The school was founded in 1982 in order to create a program that reflected the work of Sidney Ledson, an author and expert on topics relating to teaching technology and motivation. His methods gained traction internationally, at the core of which is the idea that we needn’t wait to introduce children to new skill areas (specifically around language and numeracy) and the sooner we start, the better. His books on reading expanded the concept and application of phonics, and his work remains a foundation for the language arts programs at the institute today. There, and elsewhere, the approach intends to challenge students to reach further, to expand and improve their abilities in order to reach their fullest academic potentials. The ideal student is one operating at the top of his or her peer group, and, in the later grades, is preparing for success within university studies.
We questioned the school adminstration

Both my daughters go to SLI, and they could not be happier. They appreciate the variety of subjects offered as well as the methodologies followed in both classes. Learning and teaching are thorough, personalized to the students' needs and levels of progress. My daughters also love their teachers, as they bring enthusiasm to the materials they share with students and they also demonstrated a high sense of care and commitments to each student . In addition to these characteristics, as a parent, I can see the impact of the self-directed learning that takes place in the classroom, so students take the initiative in their learning journey and own their progress. Neither of them mentioned anything negative about their student experience. They do see it as a second home, and they are happy to go to school every morning.
My children liked their teachers (Ms. Tabacowalla, Ms. Selina & Ms. Yu) so much in the first a few weeks since they started their JK in September 2017, that they looked forward to going to school. These teachers established personal connections with my children, which paved way for them to engage in enriched learning.
My children enjoyed the playtime with other kids. It's great that they have playtime between learning sessions. I feel that my children developed social skills through playing with other kids.
I like that they have arts and crafts activity daily.
The experience my kid gets is diverse. It is a wholesome learning culture. The teachers are great and connect very well with the students.
What do you feel your child likes the best, or appreciates the most, about his/her experience at the school?
I see my child grow into a leader and we are proud to have our kid associated with the school.
Likewise, is there anything that he or she finds disappointing?
We only wish there was larger play ground for kids.
Son likes the school and teacher. The administrative staff Ms Shivji, Ms Jan, and Ms Kara are all great to work with as are all the staff and teachers.
The only opportunity I see is for upgrades to the school in terms of equipment and layout and painting. The school looks very dated but I can imagine it would be expensive to do the upgrades and do not want higher fees for the students so am willing to live with what is there currently.
Our son had a truly amazing experience at Sidney Ledson. At first, he was reluctant to move to a small school, but it ending up being one of the best decisions he ever made. From the helpful teachers to the small class sizes to the immersive academic program, all aspects of the school seemed to fit into place. In this time at Sidney Ledson, our son learned much more than he had in previous years and enjoyed going to school more than ever. He made close bonds with his peers, some of which still exist several years later. Overall, enrolling my our son at Sidney Ledson was one of the best decisions we have ever made.
