The big picture on Sunrise Montessori School

We summarized the school ourselves

Established in 1988, Sunrise has developed one of the most established and trusted programs in its catchment area. The teaching is strong, and the facilities top-notch. A principle draw for the families that attend is the continuity that Sunrise offers from birth through grade 8. As such, students spend their formative years within a consistent community of care, building meaningful, long-term relationships with instructors and peers. The opportunities for interacting with other age groups is a distinguishing factor of the Montessori approach, and is a key to the Sunrise experience. The school community is a good size, and there are many benefits, including a wide range of programs and activities, including French immersion, an indoor playground, and sports and physical activity. The afterschool programs are rich and varied, including piano, marital arts, and gymnastics, among others. All of that and hot lunches, too. There’s a lot to love, with the experience and expertise of the staff topping the list.

We have only been at Sunrise Montessori School for a year, however, my daughter has been enjoying her time there so far. The small class size has really allowed my daughter to feel comfortable and it has been really great for her in making friends. Also, this allows for the teacher to have more "one-on-one" time with my daughter and all of the other children. My daughter loves learning with her teacher and looks forward to seeing her teacher on a daily basis. She is always eager to see what new activities will be brought into the classroom. As a parent, I really am glad to see that my daughter loves coming to school. I always feel at ease leaving her at Sunrise Montessori School.

My daughter is currently enrolled at Sunrise Montessori in their Casa program. My daughter absolutely loves coming to school on a daily basis and is always excited to see her teachers and friends. Upon arriving to school, my daughter will always ask me to carry her to the window to see whether her teachers and friends have all arrived. All of the teachers, whether they are from her classroom or the before/after school teachers, are always friendly, nurturing and always places the children's health and safety first. On another note, the school, in general, is very clean and organized. As a parent, having a clean environment is very important for the wellbeing of my child. On a daily basis, my daughter enjoys learning with her teacher and benefits from the low student to teacher ratio.

It is a fabulous school with phenomenal teachers. At first, he was not interested in going to school because we were not going to be there, he was too shy to interact with other students as well as teachers, he was not willing to eat the food especially the meals that he was not familiar with nor used to and he was not able to keep up with the schedule and routine. Ultimately, my child was a wreck hence why I chose Sunrise Montessori to help prepare him for life. I didn't have much expectations going in. However, within a few weeks my son was the compete opposite. He started to appreciate the Montessori school environment more than his own home. One of the greatest things for me is that he ACTUALLY enjoys veggies now.

I have been sending my child here since she was in the Toddler classroom. The teachers are very welcoming to my child, they get down to her level and greet her every morning. They come in on a daily basis with a smile on their faces, which is very warming to a parent's heart. My daughter has learned lots - the phonetic sounds, numbers, colors, shapes, and daily self-help skills. She has learned the basics that a Montessori School should be teaching to their children. She has so much fun at school that she does not want to leave when I come in the evenings. Now that she is in the JK/SK program, there are extracurricular activities which are great! She even gets to go on field trips as well. The staff members are all so organized and practice lots of care during field trips that it is assuring to me.

My son is currently enrolled at Sunrise Montessori in their Casa program and has been at the school since he was a toddler. We are beyond thrilled with the school and the staff members, the principal Ms. Grace as well as the Toddler/Casa room teachers. They are nurturing and are super accommodating and friendly. My son absolutely adores his teachers and is always so excited to go school every morning, and as a parent knowing that your child is happy and more importantly safe is always a huge factor. The classrooms are very clean and the academic materials are always organized and easily accessible for the students. Being an educator myself, I know the importance of an effective educator and positive learning environment and how it impacts an individual child's overall development and ability to thrive. Therefore, I am so pleased and impressed with Sunrise Montessori School.
