This course is designed to equip students with effective essay-writing skills essential for high school success. Instruction will cover various aspects of essay composition, including research techniques, thesis development, planning and organization, using textual evidence effectively, paragraph structure, logical argumentation, and the drafting and revision process. The course will primarily focus on the research essay, the comparison-contrast essay, and the analytical essay. Students will complete several short take-home assignments, a formal essay, and a final in-class essay test. This course is ideal for students seeking to improve their written assignment results and enhance their overall communication skills.
A 13% HST Tax is applicable to non-credit academic programs.
