Find a Camp
The LIT program is a four-week adventure that focuses on the hard and soft skills of the camp experience. Candidates work to achieve certification in swimming (Bronze Med, Cross or NLS depending on previous level), certification in first aid (Standard First Aid) as well as sessions in teaching the various activities and outdoor living skills. Candidates will learn team building and leadership strategies, communication strategies and be given a cabin group to shadow. The program includes a 10-day canoe trip through Ontario’s backcountry. The Leadership candidates live in Davern’s brand-new Leadership village, located on the hill overlooking the beaver pond. The program strives to encourage each candidate to shine, building character, self esteem, patience and empathy.
The program is lead by a dedicated Leadership Director, a senior camp staff who mentors the candidates in the ways of outdoor adventure.
