This camp is designed to build the following character traits:

Curiosity: We'll spark curiosity by immersing campers in decades of history through hands-on projects, pop culture lessons, and era-themed games. Exploring music, fashion, and events from the 1920s to 2000s ignites questions and connections, while activities like escape rooms turn learning into adventure.
Creativity: Our program inspires creativity through hands-on crafts, themed games, and interactive lessons. Campers design flapper headbands, create board games, and tackle an escape room challenge, all while exploring pop culture and history. Each activity encourages imagination and unique self-expression.

Blast to the Past: A Journey Through the Decades!

At GlenOak Academy Summer Camp, we provide a traditional summer camp experience that's fun, engaging, and full of hands-on learning! Each week, our camp is built around a unique theme, giving campers the opportunity to dive into exciting activities that spark their curiosity and creativity.

What makes our camp special?
GlenOak Academy Summer Camp combines fun learning opportunities with interactive and age-appropriate activities that inspire growth and exploration. Campers experience a balance of academics (led by certified teachers), arts, and recreational physical activity while making memories and friendships that last a lifetime. Our camp is designed to foster learning in a holistic and exciting way.

What will your child experience?
This week, campers will take a time-traveling adventure through history, starting in the 1920s and moving through the decades to the early 2000s. Each day brings pop culture history lessons on music, fashion, toys, TV shows, and major events of the era. Campers will craft flapper headbands, create DIY board games, and explore themed academic activities inspired by each decade. The week wraps up with a thrilling escape room challenge to bring campers back to 2025!

A typical day at camp:
Each morning begins with a fun, large-group gathering filled with energizing games or interactive challenges. Campers then dive into smaller, age-based groups for themed lessons and activities, practicing Language, Math, and Science skills aligned with the Ontario Curriculum. They'll create decade-inspired crafts, participate in themed games, and enjoy outdoor play. Weekly highlights also include trips to the park or unique on-site field trips that enhance the week’s theme.

Friday Fun:
Fridays are packed with excitement! Campers are encouraged to dress up in decade-inspired costumes and showcase their learning and creativity as well as a provided pizza lunch. The week's grand finale is an escape room experience where campers use all their skills and knowledge to return to the present day, creating unforgettable memories along the way.
