Let your children explore their “designer selves” in this immersive day camp created by Frances Boychuk, Registered Interior Designer and College Professor. Your little designer will come away with excitement and gain a wealth of design knowledge. Learn Colour Theory, 3D Line Perspective, Sketching, Furniture Design, Interior Design, Set + Museum Design. At Little Design School, we create an environment where every child feels valued, inspired, and supported. Our small-group setting allows for personalized attention, helping each camper thrive. Our camp is more than just an activity; it’s an immersive experience fostering growth, self-expression, and confidence. In this intimate setting, children explore their design potential through a curriculum that balances creativity and fun. Director's Message
Have you ever heard of Beginner's Luck? What I see in this program are children unleashing their creative minds. Something that will stay with them for life. They're taking risks. They're focusing. They're not on screens. They're developing curiosity about form, texture, perspective and drawing techniques. As a professor for 2 colleges, I have taught in the Bachelor of Interior Design program for 9 years. I have created this course specifically for 9-14 year olds using the same exercises I have taught my older students in college. What do I see? Beginners luck. No hesitation to create. Just courage to get their hands moving and create onto paper. At the end of the week, your designer will walk away with a fully packed sketch book they can look back on, be proud, and to further gain more creative confidence. We encourage them to start to think about details and how to see design in their everyday.Staff and Counsellors
At Little Design School, Director Frances Boychuk brings over 20 years of experience in interior design, blending creativity and social responsibility. As a former President of the Grand Valley Chapter of the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario, she emphasizes design’s power to create positive change. Frances is passionate about mentoring young minds and inspiring them to explore their creative potential. The camp’s team of Bachelor of Interior Design students shares this passion, offering personalized guidance and fostering collaboration. Together, they provide an immersive experience that builds confidence, creativity, and real-world design skills.
