What makes Neighbour Note unique is the teaching faculty. Our teachers are among the highest educated and experienced educators in North America (PhD, DMA, MMus., MEd., MA, BMus., BEd., BA). All music teachers are not created equal. Education matters. Experience matters. Without proper professional guidance and tutelage, it is quite easy to develop bad habits and ultimately become injured. Our camps are not run by high school students or caregivers. We only hire the very best teachers.

What sets Neighbour Note Music Camps & Lessons apart from other music schools is the sheer amount of talent in those who run it. Teachers are highly-experienced educators with years of specialized music training. With Juno nominations, Juilliard scholarships, and Sony Music recording artists, the instructors’ qualifications mean only the best of the best teach at this school. Founder John Force was frustrated by the credibility of other music schools and thus founded Neighbour Note. There’s no reason to be intimidated by this: the family music school’s primary goal is to offer supportive and personalized instruction to players of all skill levels. Using innovative, research-based methods that immerse kids in the magic of music, kids have a literal blast while they learn. The Rock! Band Camps are highly popular with kids forming bands, writing their own songs, doing their own marketing, and of course, rocking out to their own music in front of a live audience.

Director's Message
At Neighbour Note we strive to give your children the best education possible. We do this by hiring the highest educated and most experienced teachers and musicians to mentor your children through camps, workshops, programs, and private music lessons. Our teacher qualifications include the following degrees, diplomas, and proven teaching experience: PhD, DMA, MMus, MEd, MA, BMus, BEd, BFA, BA, LRCM, ARCT, 8-36 years teaching experience. Why Choose Neighbour Note for Music Lessons?
Neighbour Note is unlike any other music school in Canada. It was created after the founder, John Force, became overly frustrated by some of the other music schools’ lack of credibility. Neighbour Note employs highly educated Canadian teachers and real-life rock stars, Juno-award winning and Juno-nominated musicians. Here are some success stories of Neighbour Note teachers:
Dr. Pete Johnston and Dr. Angela Schwarzkopf both won Juno Awards. Elizabeth Rodriquez was nominated for a Juno Award. Dr. Nina Soyfer was awarded the RCM Teacher of Distinction Award in 2019 for best piano teacher in Ontario.
Dr. Kristin Force and Dr. Pete Johnston are currently contract faculty members at TMU (Toronto Metropolitan University) and were partly responsible for establishing the minor degree in music at TMU. Oscar Rangel and Robin Howe are part of the epic heavy metal band Operus who are signed with the Sony Music label.
All music teachers are not created equal. Education matters. Experience matters. Without proper professional guidance and tutelage, it is quite easy to develop bad habits and ultimately become injured. John Force has extensive nerve damage, CTS, and has swollen vocal chords as a direct result of poor instruction from inexperienced uneducated guitar, piano, and singing teachers. Neighbour Note is breaking the cycle of poor music education and guidance by employing only the most exceptional teachers.
Student success is central to Neighbour Note's music school model.
