Drawing Challenges, Ages 14 - 17; Sun, 1 - 4 pm

Contemporary artists use varied styles of drawing to create visual statements that grab attention and communicate how they think about the world in the 21st century. We will combine process work focused on skill acquisition such as drawing exercises with final drawn artwork that develop messages from your own sense of the world we share. This course explores drawing techniques from finely detailed illustrations, layered art, combining text and image, pop cultural influences, and representing one’s layered identity. Create a portfolio of drawings, and challenge yourself to think about art-making in new diverse ways!
