This one-week intensive course focuses on how artists can develop their own style and own artistic voice. The course is suited for youth seeking to create portfolio pieces suitable for submission to high school art programs such as those at Beatrice des Loges, Canterbury HS, or De Lasalle. Youth who want to develop their observational skills in drawing and also consider creating personal art pieces in their own style will find this camp of interest. In the mornings, students will work on how to create artwork that demonstrates their own unique take on the world and sets their art apart from others. In the afternoon some mandatory drawing tasks from relevant high schools will be done; such as genres of still life, the portrait and the human figure. This will allow you to practice rendering form, light and shadow, proportions, and texture in drawing; while doing both sketching exercises and final artworks that express your unique voice. There will be a session with a draped model.
