Ancient Egypt + Half day Activies

Step back in time and dive into the fascinating world of Ancient Egypt! This hands-on camp takes young explorers on a journey through one of the world’s most captivating ancient civilizations. From deciphering hieroglyphics and crafting pharaoh masks to building pyramids and learning about mummification, campers will experience the rich history, mythology, and culture of Ancient Egypt in an exciting and creative way.

What to Expect:

• Hieroglyphics & Papyrus: Discover the basics of Ancient Egypt, decode hieroglyphics, create your own cartouche, and make faux papyrus to write your name like an ancient scribe.
• Gods, Goddesses & Myths: Learn about powerful deities, design and paint portraits of gods and goddesses, and bring ancient myths to life through Reader’s Theatre performances.
• Pharaohs, Queens & Amulets: Explore the lives of rulers like King Tut and Cleopatra, craft colorful pharaoh masks, and create protective clay amulets inspired by ancient symbols.
• Pyramids & Architecture: Discover the secrets of pyramid construction, build miniature dioramas, and design your own cardboard pyramids using Maker Space techniques.
• Mummification & Tomb Artifacts: Witness a demonstration of the mummification process on “Queen Kentucky Fried Cleo” (a chicken!), create tomb artifacts, and assemble a burial pyramid for your treasures.

The other half of each day will include outdoor activities such as sports, organized group games, nature walks, water-based fun, and creative free-play activities. While some activities may tie into Ancient Egypt themes, the focus will be on keeping kids active, social, and engaged in playful outdoor experiences.
