At SPC summer camp, we believe in the power of experiential, play-based learning. We know that encouraging children to be active, get messy, discover their talents & connect with the outdoors creates lifelong positive outcomes. These experiences help children develop lasting friendships, create meaningful memories and learn valuable life skills that help strengthen confidence.
Our Sports Camp is made for your sport enthusiast. Campers will spend their day developing their skills in three core sports (baseball soccer and basketball), as well as trying and learning many different other sports. They will also be able to participate themed days, camp wide events and campers aged 9-12 will be able to attend a public swim once a week.
Our Outdoor Camp is made for you outdoor adventurist. Campers will be able to connect with nature, explore the forest and creek, develop their camping skills (campfire building and cooking over the camp fire), create nature art masterpieces and build shelters.
Schoolhouse Playcare Centres of Durham currently has 3 programs available; 1 TBD.

Registration for camp programs will open early February. Information will be available on our website.
Families who currently attend an SPC program or who attended camp in summer 2024 will be able to register online through the parent portal.
Families who are new to SPC will need to fill out a registration package and submit through a secure portal or drop off the package at our main office or one of our centres.
We have limited spaces, and recommend registering as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Our staff team is made up of returning and new members who have a love for working with children and outdoors/sports. Team members participate in a full week of training, including High Five, and are all Standard First Aid and CPR Certified. Our Camp Coordinators and Seasonal Camp Directors, along with our Supervisor have many years of day camp experience and create a warm welcoming environment where campers feel safe to take risks and build confident and skill.
