This camp is designed to build the following character traits:

Courage: Attending a month-long summer camp with language classes, boarding, excursions, and camping requires courage. Stepping out of comfort zones, facing language challenges, adapting to communal living, and embracing outdoor adventures all contribute to a transformative and brave experience.
Curiosity: With language-learning at the heart of our program, it goes without saying that students thrive at Stanstead when they engage their curiosity. Each day brings new discovery outside the classroom, too, be that during workshops, team-building activities, excursions, or camping trips.

Since 1987, the Stanstead College Language Adventure camp has been offering a 4-week immersion program for both domestic and international students. Boys and girls ages 11 to 17 arrive on campus to learn English, French, or beginner Spanish.

Our immersion program includes classroom learning, excursions, weekend camping excursions, along with other exciting on-campus activities. We know the best way to learn is by living the language. This is why we strive to create a fully immersive environment in all aspects of camp.

Students in a classroom of 12 to 15 receive instruction at three levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Classroom instruction focuses on speaking, listening, reading and writing exercises. Students become more confident in their second (or third) language by improving comprehension and developing their spoken vocabulary and grammar.

During the camp, advanced-level students will undergo TOEFL Junior testing.

Cultural and Recreational Activities

Learning a second language has never been so much fun! To provide students with a chance to discover Quebec’s diverse culture and amazing nature, our Language Adventure immersion program organizes several outdoor and cultural activities throughout the duration of the camp in order to get the most out of their camp and learning experience.
