The three main reasons someone should choose Bond Academy are the opportunities, the communities, the strong emphasis on academics, and because they try to make you a more complete person. When you go to university, you must get up in front of your class and present projects, I've seen people freeze up on the spot. I think Bond Academy gets you ready for that. It prepares you for whatever you want to endeavour, whether it's a university, college, or whatever you feel like you're passionate about.

The amount that you're prepared for university or college at Bond Academy is more than you would think. When you're doing it, you're like, ‘why am I doing this?’ But then, when you get to first year university, everything is a recap of what I did in Grade 12. It's nice to know that you learned it before, and then you can apply it again.

It builds such a good foundation, not only for doing your work. It builds a good foundation for you as a person, because you realize this is the basis of how I learn to handle whatever comes my way. After graduating from Bond, I went to York University. I had applied there for criminology. And then after that, I ended up picking up a double course load. I was doing two majors, which were psychology and criminology. And then on the side, I'm also helping out with my family business. So I finished my undergrad. I graduated with that. And now I'm actually working on double masters, both criminology and psychology as well.

Bond Academy creates and develops a well-rounded person. They create a person that is open-minded, kind, and understands that diversity. They really prepare the child for the real world, not just the academic world, not just the school life. The outcome of attending Bond Academy is a child that not only can successfully work at a university level but in the future, in the career that they will pursue, they will have foundations around a personality that has been developed, that is well-rounded. In my own job, the people that I hire have to be well-rounded people, not only skilled to do the job, but also a diverse, positive, energetic, compassionate and understanding of each other's values and culture, and that's what Bond brings.

The school doesn’t only help the students to complete a degree or certificate. It provides resources and the community around the school. It's in a good location and helps the students to get more involved in different activities. These opportunities are provided to students prior to entering into a university or college education, and they help the students to become more successful and more involved in the community and later on help out with the life goals down the road.

Bond Academy only has residence for students who are 16 and older. Most of the students and our residents are international students, and they mainly come from China. A lot of students who had joined our school in Grade 11 come here for Grade 11 and 12, and get their Ontario diplomas, so they could go to Canadian and American universities.

I would say Bond’s had a very big influence on who I am. Because of such a small community, you really get to explore a lot of options. And for me personally, what that was like is I got to have a good understanding of what I liked and what I disliked, and even in regards to my future, what I had decided to study and what I had really decided to explore.

I think attending Bond Academy has made it easier for me to approach people. When you're in a bigger school, I think it's harder to go and ask for help if you need something, especially if you don't know that many people on a personal level. In contrast, it's much easier to approach people in a smaller school like Bond Academy. When you need help, you can’t always just figure it out on your own. Sometimes you’ve got to go and seek out a network and see who you can get help with, especially once you get to university, for sure.

The thing that really pushed me over the edge towards Bond Academy was when I felt that the school would heal my children. The school is so diversified and we're such a close-knit community that is welcoming to everyone. Nothing is perfect, but I feel very blessed to be at Bond with four children that have graduated and gone on to be very successful. I have three at university currently doing extremely well and I have Bond to thank for healing a lot of their wounds and helping them excel.

Reports from both current students and alumni indicate that Bond Academy's customizable curriculum and academic rigour effectively prepare students for university-level work, often resulting in a smoother transition and higher achievement in post-secondary education.

The one thing that stood out for me was the way we could shape the curriculum. I didn't really notice that until I went to University. Especially in the first year, and later years too. I was surprised to learn that in high school or elementary school. Especially in science, the way we were taught biology also stood out. When I went to University, much of it was a recap and repetition of what I had already learned.
