The strong support network helps the process.

Parents and students indicate that a defining feature of Crescent School is its robust support system from teachers, staff, and peers, providing a strong foundation for academic and personal growth.

I think what I appreciated most was that there's a really strong support network at Crescent School. There's always people to talk to, whether it's about advice for university, or you're struggling with academics. You've always got solid friends, good teachers, and staff to talk to. I found that they were always there to catch me whenever I was falling over. I think that's really something that's special about Crescent School. I appreciated it then, and I still appreciate it now. I think the people are something that really sets Crescent School apart.
I just remember every day feeling very positive when I was at Crescent. For example, studying for tests, surrounded by these people who are like, ‘We’ll get to this together’. Those feelings stick with you. And that’s an important feeling to have going into university, that kind of optimism.
We are an academically rigorous school, so all of our boys, upon graduation, go to university. So I happen to believe that's a viable track for any student if they're committed to that pathway, and that obviously it takes a village for that to happen. So in one sense, we probably are not a place where if a student was a bit older and they were immediately wanting to head out into the workforce after high school, that this wouldn't be the environment.

Students' paths are structured based on their interests.

Reports from the school community highlight Crescent School's tiered approach to discovering and nurturing student interests and strengths, beginning in lower school and intensifying through middle and upper school, ultimately guiding students towards success in higher education and life.

Crescent has a really strong science program, and I’ve kept that going in university, and now in medical school. A lot of my mentors at Crescent were in the sciences. Crescent was a place where my interest and curiosity in science unfolded, and allowed me to grow.
This is a different track in terms of preparing boys for university. That said, it's a very well-rounded school. So typically we have programs where, outside of the classroom, outside of those scholastic commitments, we have boys who will be involved in multiple different programs. So we'll have students who are on a sports team who are also in a drama production. We'll have students who are on a robotics team and also be involved in community outreach. And I would say that it's a busy place.
In lower school it is not obvious to know the academic strength. Crescent school believes that lower school students should experience everything they like. In middle school, students learn to find and decide what their real interests and strengths are. Students in middle school share common interest in the same club. There are enriched programs available for outstanding students in Math, French and English. Students also start outreach programs in middle school. In upper school, students are encouraged to focus on their strength and dig deeper. The guidance advisors as well as the mentors will give advice and guide students to correct way in their life. I feel the academic strength in Crescent is fully preparing a student to Canada universities and also being successful in one’s life.
