Grace McCallum, the 8th Principal of Branksome Hall, joined the school after nearly two decades of experience in teaching and leading International Baccalaureate (IB) schools across four continents. Prior to Branksome Hall, she served as Principal at the American School of Brasilia, an IB school with about 700 students. She has also held senior academic leadership positions at the Frankfurt International School and the Canadian International School of Beijing.

McCallum holds a Bachelor of Education and a Master's of Education in Educational Administration and Leadership from the University of New Brunswick. She has a strong track record in academic excellence, strategic planning, fund development, partnerships, master planning, and building projects. Known for being a community-builder and forward-thinker, McCallum is passionate about girls' education, particularly in STEM, leadership, and entrepreneurship.

Branksome teaches girls the skills they need to thrive in a changing world, and I love that my own daughters will be attending the school.”

She emphasizes Branksome’s balanced approach, saying, "Branksome Hall balances academic excellence with a focus on student well-being and provides a wide range of co-curricular activities that allow students to explore and discover their passions. A key strategy is personalized learning, ensuring students’ experiences are tailored to their needs."

McCallum is committed to making decisions that are best for students. "Making decisions that are best for students is at the heart of everything I do. I remind myself of this every day to guide me through challenging decisions. Keeping that focus makes difficult decisions easier."

Looking ahead, she is eager to further Branksome’s global trajectory and innovative mindset. "I see Branksome Hall on an incredible trajectory in terms of global mindedness and interaction with the international community. I am excited to explore these connections and to continue our leadership in education through initiatives like the upcoming ICAST building, which will advance STEM education for girls." 

McCallum’s appointment marks a new era for Branksome Hall, building on the school’s rich history and leadership in girls' education.
