Curriculum approach at TEAM School: Traditional

TEAM School provides individualized academic programmes for students who benefit from instruction in a small class setting. Academic needs are identified and addressed using explicit instructional methods, including Direct Instruction, and consistent classroom routines and expectations. Students in our TEAM Programme receive core instruction at their level and in groups of up to 9 students. TEAM Prep students receive targeted intervention with a greater level of support in groups of up to 5 students. Grade level science and social studies instruction is provided, and individual accommodations are put in place to meet student needs. Our small and supportive settings address academic gaps by allowing each student to learn and master skills at their level and to move on to the next level of challenge as and when they are ready. Student confidence increases as they improve their skills and develop strategies to support continued academic success.

Mathematics

Specific programme selection is based on each student's learning needs. In the primary grades, students are usually place in Connecting Math Concepts or JUMP Math. In grades 4 through 8, JUMP Math and Nelson Mathematics are most commonly used.

TEAM School programming aims to develop solid foundational skills, including calculation skills. Decisions regarding calculator use are made on an individual basis with consideration given to the profile of each learner and the complexity of required tasks.

This can lead to behavioural and emotional issues, such as drug and alcohol abuse, criminal behaviour, eating disorders, depression, and anxiety.Clinical DepressionThis is a mental health disorder also called "major depression." PhysicalMultiple sclerosisThis is a condition of the central nervous system. It affects the brain, optic nerves, and spinal cord.
