Campers will have an opportunity to work hands-on in the kitchen with award-winning uOttawa chefs and learn basic (101) and slightly more advanced (102) cooking and kitchen skills, including food safety, kitchen tool handling, recipe reading, and measuring ingredients.
Campers’ days will be split between the cooking in the kitchen and fun and fresh air with camp counsellors. Each week will include a trip to the pool and an outing with a food theme!
Please note that pick up and drop off for culinary camps will be at the University of Ottawa’s Nutrition Centre located at 200 Lees Ave. Camp staff will be on site to greet you alongside posted signage.
Campers will learn food safety, basic knife handling, ingredient measuring, and recipe reading while preparing doughs and sauces from scratch! Everyone helps with cleanup and campers learn about healthy eating and how to utilize leftovers.
Campers will prepare family friendly dinners, healthy lunches, and simple snacks. Food safety, knife handling, and healthy eating lessons go deeper, while recipes are slightly more challenging. Dinner may never be the same for your family again!
* No camp on Tuesday, July 1st (Canada Day) and Monday, August 4th (Civic Holiday)
** 4-day camp weeks do not include field-trip.
