This program is designed to build the following character traits:

Interpersonal skills: Our unique ‘Teasing & Bullying’ resource that is taught through acting. Children are encouraged to use this whenever they are feeling targeted in any way. As well, we always teach the ‘physical danger’ exception and what they should do in order to best stay safe.
Courage: Our mindful tips (taught & elaborated through acting activities) to build courage and manage nerves & anxiety. Designed to provide children with a "go-to tool kit" that they can use for whenever they are feeling overwhelmed, nervous or scared.

We are the only children's acting studio that takes invaluable social-emotional objectives from the Ontario Curriculum and mixes them with popular acting activities! Not only will your child gain the amazing benefits from acting, but they will also learn how to prepare themselves for common childhood situations. We have a one of kind anti-bullying resource, a courage list, and multiple lessons that help children with stranger danger, being lost and managing their emotions.

Who Can Sign Up?

Children ages 4-12.

We encourage all personality types to join us, as Sparx is perfect for not only the outgoing spotlight lover, but also kids who may be shy and nervous to open up. At Sparx, our acting classes are designed to make each child feel special and embrace their individual strengths!

*We will spilt the kids into Little Sparkies & Big Sparx age groups if we have enough full course registered students to make two classes.*

What will my child learn?

Your child will experience 6 classes of acting skills, education, creativity and most importantly…fun! Each course day offers new Empowering Acting games, lessons and activities based around social-emotional growth, objectives from the Ontario Curriculum and professional acting techniques! No acting experience is necessary.

Through acting & our Sparx resources, children will learn:

-How to cope with bullying

-How to cope with anxiety through 7 Courage Tips

-Tips to stay safe if lost

-What to do in various Stranger Danger scenarios

– Strategies to help emotional regulation

-Valuable acting techniques, that will help develop their independence, confidence, imagination, communication, public speaking and presentation skills

– Be mentored and encouraged to make strong choices that will help grow their unique selves

– Meet new friends!

-Experience audition technique skills by acting out unique Sparx made Commercials, TV & Film and Theatre scenes! (Super fun!)

*COURSE HIGHLIGHT: Kids will help create and perform a one of a kind ‘Sparx Showcase’ for friends and family on the last day of the course! They get to select their own character & plot details!

For all other classes, we offer drop in classes for $45 + tax ($50.85) per 2 hour class. It can be sent to info@sparxstudioacting.com by E-transfer. You must also fill out this SIGN UP FORM.
