Qualitative insights

These insights are based on conversations with parents, alumni, and school leadership. Handpicked and curated by our editor, they offer a close look at how the school is experienced and perceived by those who know it best.

There's an emphasis on in-person visits.

Observations from parents and staff emphasize that visiting La Citadelle during school hours offers the best insight into the environment and curriculum, making it easier for families to assess if the school's values align with their own.

When considering any private school, it is good to visit during school hours to observe the environment and curriculum first-hand.
My wife and I came for a tour during a school day, and were welcomed by the headmaster, Alfred. We were amazed to see the kids being so calm and respectful. They greeted us as they walked by. It was a noticeable difference from what we were used to in the public system, and it was hard to ignore. We decided to enrol our child here in Pre-K and haven't looked back since. I initially learned about La Citadelle from one of my colleagues. His daughter had gone to the school and it had done wonders for her.
People can talk about the school, but if you come see for yourself, you'll definitely want to come here. The best way to assess the school is to come during the school hours, see the kids doing their work, see the teachers doing their work, and you get the atmosphere for the school. You'll get to see what the school is really like. I think that's the best way.

Alumni engagement and continual connection are big priorities.

Testimonies from alumni and administrators indicate that La Citadelle fosters strong, lasting relationships among its former students, who remain actively involved in school life and contribute to the community even after graduation.

Our alumni are very much attached to the school and continue to come and share in the life that we have at La Citadelle. Our oldest alumni are around 35 years old. They are now all finishing university and beginning their life and their career. We have students every year participating at the science fair as judges. Many of them come to open houses to talk to prospective parents. And they are usually involved in all our extracurricular activities at school and different functions. It's a real pleasure to have the alumni remain connected to the school.
